چکیده

Increasing energy demands and greenhouse gases emission from wastewater treatment processes prompted the investigation of alternatives capable to achieve effective treatment, materials recovery, reduce environmental footprint. Combination microbial fuel cell (MFC) technology with microalgal-based process in MFC-PBR (photobioreactor) systems could emissions facilities, capturing CO2 emitted industrial facilities or directly atmosphere. Microalgae production enhance recovery wastewater-embedded resources. Two system configurations were tested compared a control MFC, under different operating conditions, using both synthetic agro-industrial as anolytes. COD removal efficiency (?COD) monitored during every condition tested, reaching ?COD values up 99%. Energy losses also evaluated. The equipped microalgal biocathode proved be efficiently treat real wastewater, surpassing effectiveness unit specific conditions. Oxygen provided by algae improves overall balance this system, which further enhanced many possible resources opportunities presented post-processing cathodic effluent.

Functional Analysis of Spontaneous Cell Movement under Different Physiological Conditions

Cells can show not only spontaneous movement but also tactic responses to environmental signals. Since the former can be regarded as the basis to realize the latter, playing essential roles in various cellular functions, it is important to investigate spontaneous movement quantitatively at different physiological conditions in relation to a cell's physiological functions. For that purpose, we o...

Cooling Performance Characteristics of the Stack Thermal Management System for Fuel Cell Electric Vehicles under Actual Driving Conditions

The cooling performance of the stack radiator of a fuel cell electric vehicle was evaluated under various actual road driving conditions, such as highway and uphill travel. The thermal stability was then optimized, thereby ensuring stable operation of the stack thermal management system. The coolant inlet temperature of the radiator in the highway mode was lower than that associated with the up...

Performance Analysis of Global Navigation Satellite System Signal Acquisition Aided by Different Grade Inertial Navigation System under Highly Dynamic Conditions

Under the high dynamic conditions, Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) signals produce great Doppler frequency shifts, which hinders the fast acquisition of signals. Inertial Navigation System (INS)-aided acquisition can improve the acquisition performance, whereas the accuracy of Doppler shift and code phase estimation are mainly determined by the INS precision. The relation between the ...

Local Area Water Removal Analysis of a Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cell under Gas Purge Conditions

In this study, local area water content distribution under various gas purging conditions are experimentally analyzed for the first time. The local high frequency resistance (HFR) is measured using novel micro sensors. The results reveal that the liquid water removal rate in a membrane electrode assembly (MEA) is non-uniform. In the under-the-channel area, the removal of liquid water is governe...
